Visiting France

While it may not be everyone’s first stop, France is still one of the most popular tourists’ sites. France attracts 84.7 million tourists each year, whether it’s the gorgeous scenery or the tumultuous history that lures tourists from all over the world. France certainly does catch the eye of many people.

The country has a beautiful display of its culture and history throughout its land. For example, there’s the Eiffel Tower, Arc de Triomphe, and Basilica of Notre-Dame de Fourvière. The Arc de Triomphe is in honor of those who fought for France, in particular, those who fought during the Napoleonic Wars. Engraved on the inside and at the top of the arch are all of the names of the generals and wars fought. There are inscriptions in the ground underneath the vault of the arch which include the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier from World War I where the Memorial Flame burns and have made the Arc de Triomphe Paris patriotic site.

France has approximately 67.12 million people living there. With the population growing at a fast pace, the country has also extended its culture. In the more recent years France has opened up more to different religions and cultures becoming more public, with religions such as Roman Catholicism, Islam, Protestantism, and Judaism being exposed to the public. Yet, its not just its acceptance to other religious figures in history that drives people to visit it. It’s also because of its association with romance since it puts strong emphasis on passion.  Therefore many people have traveled to France to get lucky in love or to get passionate about something in their lives.

Along with these things, France is enjoyed and well-known for its cuisine and wines. It is easy to say that French people love to cook and love their food. Meals in France are joyous, long events with families drawn close together for conversation. The typical French meal offers three to four courses which includes cheese before dessert. All meals are accompanied by freshly baked breads and wine. Popular foods in France include chicken in a red wine sauce, known as Coq au vin and sea scallops cooked in butter, or Coquilles Saint-Jacques. The food that is actually on the menu can also be quite diverse and vary according to the region of the country in which you are located.

Another important fact about France is that it is high on the list of best places in the world to attend university. Individuals of all ages can attend any of the fabulous colleges and universities in the country and expect to earn a great education. France is home to some of the best universities in the world, and the country leads the way in a number of industries. When it is a wonderful education that is desired, it is France that more people look to. There are so many reasons why people choose France, with the outstanding educational opportunities being the biggest. But, a cheaper cost of living, the area and other factors also influence the decision of people to attend a university in France.
